Awards

Every year, the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation seeks the best and brightest engineering and land surveying students in California and awards scholarships to them. Over the years, ACEC California has awarded over $650,000 in cash grants to hundreds of outstanding students.

Your donation to the Foundation is an important investment in the future of the engineering and land surveying professions. Helping today’s top students become tomorrow’s best engineers is crucial to our industry. As the cost of education continues to spiral upward, it is more important than ever that we lend a hand to those deserving young men and women. By donating to the Foundation, you will help attract and retain the most talented students to the professional engineering and land surveying professions. With your support, students aspiring to be the next generation of engineers and land surveyors will continue on their path towards entering the workforce knowing that the industry is already actively supporting their success.

The Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes successfully completed projects that stand out based on the quality and complexity of the project. The program is an opportunity to promote not only your firm but also our profession through outstanding projects. Award winners will be honored at a banquet hosted by ACEC California's Scholarship Foundation. Award winners will receive extensive statewide promotion through ACEC California. All banquet proceeds will benefit the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation.

Furthermore, the Golden State and Honor Award recipients will have the opportunity to enter the ACEC National competition. ACEC members and media from all over the nation will recognize competition winners at a black-tie dinner in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with ACEC's Annual Convention and Legislative Summit.

ACEC California seeks to recognize public agencies that make exemplary use of the Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS) process at the state and local levels. QBS Award winners recognize the importance of selecting the most qualified design professionals. They serve as examples of how well the QBS process works, and they help ACEC California to promote the practice of QBS in jurisdictions that do not use, or underutilize, QBS to procure engineering or land surveying services.

ACEC California recognizes Chapters for their positive impact on their local communities, the profession and participation in local, state and national ACEC Sponsored programs. These chapters are awarded for outstanding performance in the areas of membership, scholarship, legislative involvement and contributing to the betterment of our association and industry.
