The Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes successfully completed projects that stand out based on the quality and complexity of the finished project. EEA is an opportunity to promote not only firms, but also professions through outstanding award-winning projects all throughout California! With nearly 400 engineering and land surveying professionals in attendance, including firms and public agency clients, the EEA Banquet is hosted by our 501(c)3 Scholarship Foundation, with all proceeds benefitting the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation. Please come in your formal attire for the EEA Banquet. Some may choose long gowns, 3-piece suits or even tuxedos. ACEC California leadership will be dressed to impress. ACEC California has arranged for Friar Tux, in Anaheim, to extend a 20% discount for any of our attendees who rent/purchase a tux through them. Attendees can either submit their measurements using this form or they can visit any of the Friar Tux locations (26 locations in Southern CA and Las Vegas) and get their measurements taken. The Scholarship Foundation will also be hosting a silent auction in conjunction with the Banquet. Click here for details. Emcee & Scholarship SpeakersThe banquet emcee, Don McMillan, is an electrical engineer turned stand-up comedian. After 15 years in the electrical engineering/tech world, Don quit his job to become a stand-up comedian. He has been seen on “The Tonight Show,” “HBO” and “Comedy Central.” Join us for an evening of laughs, celebration and networking with fellow industry leaders. Manuel Chavarin (pursuing a master's in engineering management at University of Southern California) and Made Roger (pursuing a master's in environmental engineering at California State University, Fullerton) were awarded scholarships by ACEC California and will speak to their experience with the ACEC California Scholarship Foundation. By becoming a sponsor, you agree to these terms. Awards CompetitionThe Engineering Excellence Awards call for submissions opened on July 1, 2024, and closed on September 27, 2024. Judging was held on November 13, 2024, where all projects were reviewed. Commendation, Merit, and Honor awards were announced in November. View the awarded projects. All awards will be presented on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Engineering Excellence Awards Formal Banquet. Join us at the banquet to honor these award-winning projects and see who will be taking home the 2025 Golden State Award. A huge thank you to the EEA judges who worked tirelessly to score the projects and determine the award recipients. This important program would not be possible without your support and expertise.
