Meet the Presenters  | Charles (Chip) H. Fletcher III, PhD, is a geologist serving as interim Dean of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He is Professor of Earth Sciences and Chairperson of the Honolulu Climate Change Commission. His research focuses on observing and modeling coastal system evolution under past, present and future sea level change. He teaches Earth Science, Climate Change, and Coastal Geology. “Chip” is a prominent public speaker, and contributor to local and national media. He has been principal advisor in funding and awarding over 30 graduate research degrees in Earth and Planetary Sciences, and has received a number of teaching, research, and community service awards. | | | |  | Paul H. Brewbaker, PhD., CBE is the principal of TZ Economics, a Hawaii consultancy doing corporate work, development impact analysis, and litigation support. His background is in research on the Hawaii economy and in country risk and financial risk analytics from 25 years as a commercial bank economist. He received his A.B. from Stanford University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii, both in economics. He also did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, taught at its Madison and Milwaukee campuses, and lectured for many years at the University of Hawaii. He holds the Certified Business Economist designation from the National Association for Business Economics. |
