ACEC California's Educational Seminars:

The ACEC California seminar is an important facet of the professional forum which the association provides.  ACEC California sponsors seminars on legal, regulatory and business management issues. In addition to conveying new and useful information, these seminars qualify for credits in ACEC California's Continuing Education and Professional Development program, which demonstrates your professional competence to clients and local agencies.

About the Seminar

Session One:  Marketing in a Down Economy

The objectives of Session One, "Marketing in a Down Economy", is to provide concrete suggestions for business owners and/or managers of Civil Engineering firms to successfully market their companies in a faltering economy. 

Who should attend?  Any company owner or employee who had the ability to make marketing suggestion for their firms. 

Agenda items will include understanding marketing, company missions and marketing, marketing vs. branding, creating good public relations and to advertise or not to advertise, just to name a few!

Session Two:  Business Writing for Engineers

The objectives of Session 2, "Business Writing for Engineers", is to provide tools to allow participants to immediately improve his or her writing abilities to enhance communication and credibility. 

Who should attend?  Anyone who communicates with clients or co-workers through any form of writing, including e-mail. 

Agenda items will include how to speak through your writing, the purpose and the message and the six keys to make it readable, just to name a few!

For those who are interested in Future Leaders Level II certification, the Business  Writing for Engineers will count towards the certification.  Future sessions will be available in the fall.
